The short version
Rarefied is free to play for fun. Please don't copy the prompts and answer lists, cheat with bots, or try to break the site. We do our best to keep it running, but we can't promise it will always work perfectly.
Using the game
- Rarefied is free for your personal, non-commercial use.
- You don't need an account. Your stats and progress are saved in your browser, and clearing your browser data deletes them.
- You're welcome to share your results and link to the site.
What belongs to us
The prompts, answer lists and tiers, design, artwork, code and the Rarefied name and logo belong to Rarefied. Please don't copy, republish or sell them in bulk, or present them as your own. Sharing a single result, or talking about a prompt with friends, is fine. Some answer lists draw on public data sets, credited on the about page of the source code, and are used under their licenses.
Fair play
Please don't use bots, scripts or other automated tools to play or to collect prompts or answers; try to get answers before they're meant to be public; overload or interfere with the site; or use it for anything illegal. We may block access for anyone who does.
Reports and feedback
If you send a report or an idea, you let us use it to improve the game, without owing you anything for it. Please don't include personal information in reports.
Ads and other sites
The site may show ads from third parties such as Google, and may link to other websites. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, products or privacy practices. See our privacy policy for how ads use cookies.
No guarantees
Rarefied is provided "as is" and "as available." We may change, pause or end the game, or any prompt or feature, at any time. We don't promise the site will be error-free or always available, or that your stats will never be lost.
Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Rarefied and the people who run it are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the site. Because the game is free, our total liability to you for any claim about the site is limited to $50.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page. If you keep playing after a change, you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
